CUSTOM SAUNA

VS.

PREFABRICATED SAUNA CABIN

The main differences between the prefabricated Jacuzzi Sauna units and the custom sauna heater kits are due to the differences in costs of customization and the materials used. Prefabricated Jacuzzi Sauna units are mass-produced; the design work, engineering, and fabrication have all been streamlined to reduce our overhead and these savings are passed on to the customers.

Additionally, the installation process only requires (2) people and can be assembled in approximately an hour. (Please note the electrical may need to be upgraded for certain models and accessories.)

Finally, some of the sauna cabins come with accessories such as Bluetooth and smart App compatibility which is not available with custom saunas. Prefabricated units are designed for residential use, and with numerous size and design options, we hope to have an option that will meet anyone's needs.

In contrast, the custom sauna heater kits are more geared towards commercial use. The custom sauna heaters are designed for larger rooms, and in turn, they have higher wattage ratings than the prefabricated heaters. The power supply has a capacity of 80-amps while the power supply for the prefabricated units is rated much lower.

The wood for custom units is more expensive as it is intended for permanent installations for primarily commercial facilities, and at 5/8", is more than twice the thickness of the prefab models. Finally, the frame mounts used for the custom sauna heaters are handmade in our local facility by our carpenters.  Furthermore, the labor and additional building materials needed will only add to the overall cost of the project. Please note labor, building materials, doors or windows would need to be provided by a 3rd party vendor.

If you're on the fence between prefab or custom, it's best to go prefab as it is more cost-effective, less labor-intensive, and fulfills the needs in most residential applications.

Why Build Your Own Sauna?

Most residential applications can be best served by our prefabricated sauna lines which are affordable and easy to install. However, there are some instances where one may need to build an infrared sauna.

We work primarily with commercial facilities that have a high volume of users and the saunas will need to stand up to heavy use and frequent daily sessions. Saunas can also specify ADA requirements to meet current building regulations.

Additionally, irregular shaped rooms or rooms that need to accommodate a large quantity of users are better served with custom sauna components. As the components can heat larger spaces and provide the necessary IR coverage for an optimate sauna session.
